There is nothing to buy yet.

The ticker will be $HBCU and it will launch on Base. It has not been issued, so there is nothing to buy, and this page is here because the people most likely to be defrauded in its name are the ones looking for a way to buy it.

What a purchase needs, and what is settled.

The network is chosen. Every one of the rest would have to be settled, published and verifiable before the word buy could honestly appear on this site.

Two ways to get a wallet.

This part is true whatever the token turns out to be, and it is worth knowing before you ever hold anything. One of the two takes a minute and leaves you nothing to write down.

A smart wallet, from this page

The button below opens Base Account and makes a wallet held by this device’s passkey, which is the same face, fingerprint or screen lock that already unlocks your phone. There is no app to install and no recovery phrase, because there is no phrase to lose. It is the shorter road and it is the one to take if you have never held a wallet.

Opens Base Account and makes a wallet held by this device’s passkey, your face, your fingerprint or your screen lock. There is no phrase to write down and no app to install. This site never sees it and never holds anything in it.

Or an app, with a phrase you keep

The older way, and still the common one. You install a wallet app and it hands you a list of words that is the wallet. Everything that follows is about those words, because losing them loses the money and giving them away gives it away.

01

Install a wallet you control

A wallet is an app that holds your own keys. Install it from the official app store listing or the maker’s own site, typed into the address bar yourself. Most people who lose everything lose it to an app they installed from a link in a message.
02

Write the recovery phrase on paper

Setting it up gives you a list of words. That list IS the wallet: anyone holding it holds the money, and nobody can restore it for you if it is lost. Write it on paper and keep it somewhere a flood or a house fire would not take. Do not photograph it and do not put it in a notes app.
03

Never give the phrase to anyone

No support agent, no giveaway, no administrator and nobody from this project will ever need it. We will never ask you for it, in any channel, for any reason. A request for it is the whole of the scam, every time.

What a purchase would involve.

Written in the conditional because that is the honest tense. No step below can be taken today, and the last one cannot be taken at all until there is an address to take it at.

01

Choose an amount

You would pick a figure and a payment method: a debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a bank transfer. The payment would go to whichever exchange handled it, never to this site, which would not see your card.
02

The coins land in your wallet

A card payment buys an ordinary coin, not this token. It would arrive in the wallet you control, and it would stay there. This site would never hold it for you.
03

Swap, at an address you verified

The last step would be swapping for the token at its own contract on Base. No contract has been deployed, so there is no address to verify and no venue to do it at. Both are listed below as open.

There is no button on this page on purpose. A button that did nothing would be a lie about what is ready, and a button that went somewhere would be worse: it would send people to buy something that has not been issued. One appears here when issued in src/data/token.ts is true, which requires a contract, a network and a legal opinion, in that order.

These do not change.

Whatever you read elsewhere, in a message, a comment or an advertisement.

  • Nothing is for sale. No contract has been deployed and it is listed nowhere, so there is nothing that could be bought today even by someone determined to.
  • Any address presented as the HBCU Token is fraudulent. Not mistaken, fraudulent: no address exists for anyone to have got right.
  • Nobody from this project will ask for your recovery phrase, send you a contract address, or message you an offer. If that happens it is not us.
  • Nothing here is an offer to sell or a solicitation to buy any security, and nothing here is investment, legal or tax advice.
  • If it is ever issued, holding it would not give you admission, a degree, a credential, or a share of any school or of this company.
